We are seeking an Office Manager who will be Hope Story's administrative hub and coordinate our child sponsorship program. Based in Cambridge, Ontario, this is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact for donors and other constituents; respond to phone and email inquiries 
  • Coordinate all aspects of child sponsorship program, liaising with field partners and home office staff
  • Initial processing of cash/cheques/credit card giving (for final processing by bookkeeper)
  • Manage office supplies, furnishings, and equipment per budget
  • Maintain record management systems – electronic and hard-copy
  • Maintain integrity of constituent data (particularly through CRM) 
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail
  • Periodic event management/support
  • Periodic volunteer management
  • Support Executive Director and other senior staff as required

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma
  • 3 years'+ administrative experience 
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Proficiency in Google Apps, MS Office
  • CRM experience an asset

Director of Donor Relations

We are seeking a Director of Donor Relations to lead Hope Story's fundraising efforts, a self-starter who will create and implement a strategic approach to donor care and development. Based in Cambridge, Ontario, this is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Enact a fund development plan which increases revenues to support the strategic direction of Hope Story. Prioritize and cultivate church, corporate, foundation, and individual relationships.
  • Evaluate the effect of internal and external forces on the organization and its fund development, recommend short- and long-term fund development plans and programs that support the values, mission and general objectives of Hope Story.
  • Lead the development of a “major donor” program – researching and coordinating the “ask” both personally and by assigning various board or staff to each connect with donors/potential donors as appropriate.
  • Monitor foundation outreach/grant writing in collaboration with relevant contractors. Lead relationship building, follow-up and reporting.
  • Maintain and improve donor communications (correspondence, phone calls, in-person meetings). Ensure timely and accurate acknowledgement of donations.
  • Seek out speaking opportunities at churches, conferences, etc. to promote Hope Story to new and existing communities
  • Oversee the execution of special fundraising events as specified in the fund development plan to generate funds for the organization.
  • Collaborate with Communications Director to grow email and mailing lists.
  • Monitor and evaluate all fundraising activities to ensure fundraising goals are being achieved.
  • Recruit and engage volunteers – “project champions” - for particular projects.
  • Support Communications Director in development of a comprehensive communication plan to promote Hope Story to current and prospective donors. Support development of marketing and communication materials for development efforts.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Proven track record in fundraising and donor relations
  • Experience planning and executing fundraising events
  • Knowledge of CRA/charity law an asset
