It is a place where faith meets action, where the Word is followed by a hand stretched out in support. These pillars are the foundation upon which the church has built its lasting impact.
Each area of the program is carefully monitored through home visits, where staff engage not only with the children but also with their families and neighbors. Through these visits, staff assess educational progress, identify health concerns, and provide spiritual encouragement. The program’s success is visible in the measurable progress of the children it serves—80% of students have achieved high marks in their academic pursuits, thanks to ongoing mentorship and homework support.

Yet, success is not defined by academics alone. Bible study sessions and counseling offer emotional and spiritual support, ensuring that children grow in both knowledge and faith. Parents and caregivers are invited to participate in Bible studies, health awareness sessions, and community discussions that foster resilience and unity. Through these initiatives, families are strengthened, and communities are transformed. The church’s commitment to holistic care is evident in its health initiatives, which provide regular check-ups, hygiene education, and support for those struggling with medical needs. Despite limited resources, Calvary continues to prioritize the well-being of the children and families it serves.
The road has not been without its challenges. The long distances to the Community Centre have made it difficult for some children to attend homework support sessions, and economic constraints often limit families’ ability to fully participate in all the programs. A shortage of necessary medical supplies has further hindered the church’s ability to provide comprehensive healthcare services. Despite these obstacles, Calvary Church’s resolve remains unshaken. The staff continue to confirm appointments, encourage attendance during school holidays, and find ways to work around the financial limitations that families face.
Prayer Requests:
- We pray for the children who have completed their Grade 12 education and are waiting to enter college; may God make a way for them to pursue further education.
- We ask for God’s guidance as the social workers go into the community to assist the children during home visits.
- We pray that the Word of God penetrates the hearts and minds of the people in the community that they may come to know Jesus Christ.
