Vision Teams

Join a Hope Story Vision Team and immerse yourself in the story unfolding in communities around the world.

What is a Vision Team?

A Vision Team is more than a trip. It’s an invitation to listen, learn, and walk alongside local churches as they serve vulnerable children and families in their own communities. Each experience is shaped by relationship, mutuality, and a shared desire to see lives transformed through the love of Christ.

The ingredient list of a Vision Team is a beautiful mix of:

Cultural exposure

Deep learning and reflection

Mutual partnership

Relationship building

All in support of the local, in-country churches Hope Story partners with.We believe your time on a Vision Team will be a season of inspired involvement, drawing you more fully into God’s redemptive work around the world.

Why Go on a Hope Story Vision Team?

Every Hope Story trip begins with listening. An important part of each Vision Team is understanding the why behind the ministry being visited: why it exists, how it began, and how God is at work through it today.

Team members are invited to:

Learn the story and history of the local ministry

Meet pastors, leaders, staff, and participants

Spend time observing, listening, praying, and learning

Develop on-the-ground understanding of the ministry’s impact and challenges

Build relationships

Hope Story Vision Teams are rooted in partnership. We believe ministry is strongest when it is shared—when local churches lead, and visiting teams come with humility, teachability, and openness to learn.

Our partnerships are two-way relationships:

Each side brings gifts, insight, and experience

Each side serves, teaches, and learns

Each trip is shaped collaboratively with our in-country partners

This approach creates space for genuine connection and ensures that each experience is both respectful and life-giving for everyone involved.

Carry the Story home

Vision Teams don’t end when the trip does.

Participants are invited to reflect on how the stories, relationships, and perspectives they’ve encountered might continue to shape their lives, churches, and communities back home.

For some, a Vision Team deepens understanding of a partner they already support.
For others, time spent “on the ground” inspires new ways to pray, share stories, and walk alongside the work of the global Church.

Our hope is that every participant returns with a deeper sense of connection—to God, to His Church, and to the communities they’ve come to know.

Hope Story shares my love of children...the best “inventions” ever! Through Hope Story I have “met” such beautiful kids and feel like I am truly making a difference in their lives. Through emails, phone calls and online interviews, I feel like I am an integral - even though small - part of the work they do. Congratulations on 25 years of sharing hope!
