Celebrating New Memories And Milestones in Tanzania

This spring, Amani School celebrated both significant growth and a meaningful connection with supporters in Canada. During her visit in May, Sarah Isack met with churches, donors, and Hope Story supporters, sharing firsthand stories of how education, discipleship, and practical care are transforming lives within the Digo community. At Crestwicke Church, many attendees had visited Amani nearly a decade ago and were encouraged to see how the school has grown and flourished over the years. At Forward Church and other supporter gatherings, including the Hope Story Hoedown, Sarah shared stories of resilience, faith, and students whose futures are being reshaped through access to education.

Sarah has now returned safely to Tanzania carrying an exciting update: the new Form 5–6 high school building has been completed, creating new opportunities for students to continue their education beyond primary school.

This milestone comes at an important time, as Amani welcomed its highest enrollment in history, with 353 primary students and 25 new Form One students joining the school this year. The growing demand reflects the trust families place in Amani's commitment to quality education, although increased enrollment has also created pressure on classroom space, desks, chairs, and learning materials.

A team of 11 medical professionals from Bombo Hospital visited the school to provide health and mental wellness education, while 268 children received deworming treatment through a government health initiative.

In a community where financial hardship can prevent children from attending school, Amani's innovative alternative fee program allows families to contribute farm produce, livestock, labor, or services in place of cash payments, helping ensure that more children can remain in school while strengthening partnerships between families and the wider community.
Prayer
- Pray for the teachers and staff of Amani School as they welcome new educators, strengthen partnerships with parents, and work together to provide quality education while nurturing the character and spiritual growth of every student.
- Pray for community transformation and local leadership development, including leaders like Pastor Majama as he pursues theological studies, and for continued community support that helps vulnerable children access education and opportunities for a brighter future.
- Pray for the continued expansion of Amani School, particularly the new high school classrooms, as enrollment continues to grow and more students seek access to quality education.
