Determined Dreams: Mutinta's Bright Spirit

Mutinta is a lively child who enjoys skipping, jumping, and playing netball. However, her family faces many challenges. They live in a small house made of reeds with a roof of iron sheets, and her mother must sell merchandise to feed Mutinta and her siblings. Mutinta's home is about 3 kilometres away from the school, and her mother walks her there each day. The long journey, especially during the cold winter mornings, often leaves Mutinta tired and struggling to concentrate during the early part of her classes. Despite these difficulties, she remains cheerful, kind, and loves making friends. She enjoys painting in class and her favourite colour is green. When she grows up, she hopes to become a police officer. Mutinta is thankful for the support she receives, including books, uniforms, shoes, and the solar light she recently received. "I'm happy because the help I got makes me want to study hard and be successful when I grow up," she says with a big smile. "I know Jesus loves me and cares about me."
