These young learners, many of whom come from vulnerable backgrounds, gather every weekday morning to immerse themselves in foundational skills like reading, writing, drawing, and painting.
In the afternoons, MEC's homework assistance program provides vital support to over 100 students preparing for their Grade 9 and 12 exams. With the guidance of dedicated teachers and volunteers, these young minds are developing the confidence and skills they need to excel in subjects like Mathematics, English, and Sciences. The program has already led to significant improvements in student performance, particularly in challenging subjects like Mathematics and their native language, Silozi.

The tailoring program at MEC has become a cornerstone of empowerment for the women in the community. This six-month course equips participants with the skills to design, cut, and sew a wide range of garments, from school uniforms to traditional attire. Twelve students, including one man, successfully completed the course in June. These graduates are now better positioned to support their children , with many already exploring opportunities to start their own small businesses or secure employment.
