For those having a hard time at school, additional homework support is provided at the learning centre. Here, children find a safe space to learn, ask questions, and grow, away from the distractions of their challenging environments.
Beyond academics, the spiritual well-being of each child is a priority at Calvary. Bible studies, evangelism, and prayer sessions are part of the holistic approach to raising children who are not only intellectually sound but also spiritually grounded. In homes where Christ is known, these visits strengthen the family's faith. In homes where faith is yet to blossom, the visits sow seeds of salvation.

Despite the progress, the challenges remain daunting. The rising cost of fuel has limited the number of home visits, and the pervasive poverty in the community threatens the children's ability to attend school regularly and perform well. Hunger is an ever-present threat, exacerbated by drought conditions and economic hardship. Some children lack the basics - school uniforms and shoes - which not only impacts their attendance but also their self-esteem.

But amid these struggles, there is resilience. The staff at Calvary press on, using bicycles to reach children when fuel runs low, and finding creative solutions to support families. They understand that nurturing a child's potential requires patience, persistence, and an unyielding belief in their ability to rise above their circumstances.
